About Madiha Aziz, MD

Dr. Madiha Aziz is a board-eligible colorectal surgeon at St. Joseph’s/Candler specializing in comprehensive care of colon, rectal and anorectal conditions. She provides advanced surgical care using minimally-invasive and robotic techniques, with a focus on compassionate, personalized treatment and excellent patient outcomes. She manages a range of conditions from colon and rectal cancer to diverticulitis hemorrhoids, incontinence and HPV. Dr. Aziz has a special interest in creating a comfortable and supportive experience for all patients, particularly women, seeking care for sensitive conditions. She is committed to fostering an environment where all patients feel heard, respected and at ease discussing concerns that are often difficult to talk about, while guiding them through every stage of care with empathy and professionalism. Dr. Aziz did her undergraduate in English at Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences in New Brunswick, NJ. She went on to earn her Medical Degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. She then did an internship/residency in general surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. Dr. Aziz followed that up with a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. When first joining Metro Surgical, she also did a Mastery of General Surgery fellowship. Dr. Aziz is license to practice in the state of Georgia. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery and Piedmont Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
